The White County Department of Education, located in Sparta, Tennessee is comprised of 8 schools and serves approximately 4,000 students in grades PreK through 12. For necessities there is a Super Walmart about 7 miles from the property and Publix in Cookeville, which is about 20 miles from The River Club. Nearby Chattanooga features Hamilton Place, Tennessee’s largest shopping mall. Hamilton Place is home to over 200 fabulous stores including Dillard’s, JCPenney, Nordstrom Rack (coming soon), Jos. A. Bank, PINK, T.J. Maxx, Golf Headquarters and more. Add to that 40 delicious eateries and a theater complex with multiple screens featuring new release films, plush seating & concession stand. Hamilton Place is a complete shopping experience. Chattanooga is also home to Warehouse Row, one of the area’s most unique outlet centers with 95,000 square feet and 20 outlet shops offering amazing discounts.

Healthcare in the area is anchored by the Cumberland Medical Center in Crossville. This private non-profit regional facility has 202 medical/surgical beds and a 20 bed sub-acute care unit. The hospital features an emergency department with 24 hour physician coverage, expanded same day surgery unit, comprehensive outpatient services, cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation and home health services. This facility has ranked in the Top 100 Hospitals in America. Nearby White County Community Hospital in Sparta is a 60 bed medical facility with emergency care. River Park Hospital in McMinnville is a 127 bed hospital offering full healthcare services. Additionally, Cookeville Regional Medical Center is a 227 bed health care facility with over 100 physicians and the Department of Veterans Affairs provides services in Chattanooga and Nashville, as well as an outpatient clinic in Cookeville. Regional EMS Alliance operates its Life Force 2 air medical transportation unit out of Sparta.

Home to ten championship golf courses, nearby Crossville is the Golf Capital of Tennessee. In fact, the Jack Nicklaus designed, Bear Trace course at the Cumberland Mountain State Park was recently named the #1 course in Tennessee by Golf Week Magazine. The County is also home to several yearly golf championships at both the amateur and professional levels. With such a variety of options, there is a course for every golfer, from the first time player to the seasoned athlete. Membership packages from several courses are available as well as “Golf Trail” packages.
